316,000 are currently in the labor force
with 299,600 being employed. From 1990
to 2000 our region's population grew 3
percent with a projected population increase
for 2010 of 5 percent.

age for our region is 37 years, with the
majority of the population falling between
25 to 59 years.

In the year 2000, there were 253,000
households in the Central Pennsylvania
Region with nearly 67% of them being family
households with an average household size of
2.45 people. The majority of housing in the
Region is owner occupied, averaging around
450 of the total occupied units.

In 2000, the Per Capita Income for the
Region ranged from $20,558 to $32,227. The
1999 Median Household Income ranged from
$31,064 to $41,909. The average annual
weekly wage in 2000 ranged from $669 to
